Nissan considering best engine type for Titan

As dealers for the vehicle that strives to bring you the best, we have some news for you from Nissan!

Nissan is toying with alternatives on the engine for one of its best-selling models in the light commercial vehicles (LCV) segment, the Titan. It is mulling over which of these powertrain types - diesel or the existing V6 gasoline is better suited for the heavy duty pick-up truck.

Prohibitive cost of developing a diesel engine is one of the factors being considered. Another is that none of the in-house diesels it is developing in association with Renault is ideal for its huge trucks. Yet another important aspect being considered is that most users of SUVs and crossovers, which run on diesel, are women, who may be put off by the idea of having to line-up beside these behemoths at gas stations.

In view of these factors, Nissan is probing the idea of fitting the Titan with an engine that has proved its prowess in two of its other models, the Pathfinder and Xterra. This proven 4.0-liter, 266-hp, V-6 VQ gasoline engine would make the Titan easier to maintain and more fuel efficient.

Whatever the alternatives, Nissan will continue to give you the best value for your money!
