Demand for the Nissan LEAF Far Exceeds Expectations

EPA Rates the Nissan Leaf EV

Fuel ratings for the all new Nissan Leaf EV, which goes on sale in December throughout 5 states, have been released from the EPA. "Best in class" in terms of fuel economy is what the EPA labeled the car. According to Nissan, using their formula saying that 33.7 kilowatt hours equals a gallon of gasoline which puts the Leaf EV at 99 "miles per gallon" so to speak.

The car was originally designed for a 100-mile range. According to the EPA it actually only gets 73 miles per gallon, under drive tests meant to simulate real-world driving. Not bad…
