Nissan is taking green living from autos to houses.  That's right, earlier this month, the Japanese automaker announced a new joint project with City Ventures aimed at pre-wiring 190 houses in the state of California.

"Pre-wiring for what?" you ask. Level II electric vehicle charging docks recommended for the Nissan LEAF, that's what. When the Nissan LEAF was launched the automaker only offered it to California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona and Tennessee which left the rest of the country out of luck. For 2012 Nissan plans to expand their markets to include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington D.C. to make it easier for people across the country to get a LEAF.

The Nissan LEAF production was set to start late in 2012 at the Smyrna, Tennessee plant but after the terrible events that took place on March 11 the company may have to postpone that start date.
